Currently, Theater V58, Inc. is offering two creative workshops exploring the topic of "Connections & Disconnections" within the family, community, and society at large. The workshops will teach basic acting, improvisation, storytelling, and visual theater games. This season's goal is to create a 45–55-minute public performance which highlights the connections and disconnections that impact the Deaf community. The performance will be included in 2025 "All In" Accessible Theater Festival. We look forward to having you participate in these workshops see workshop information below.

We started theaterv58inc.com with a simple goal in mind: to create accessible theater in American Sign Language. V58 is a 501 c3 non-profit organization funded through grants from the California Arts Council.
At theaterv58inc.com, we believe building a strong and supportive environment for people to creatively express themselves in ASL is important. Free workshops will be provided to interested participants. V58 will be teaching a variety of performing arts skills, games & activities. Carrie King, Program Coordinator & Founder of Theater V58 Inc., is a Sacramento resident who has worked in theater & film for the past 25 years. Carrie studied both Deaf Studies and Theater Arts at Gallaudet University where she received her Bachelor of the Arts degree. Carrie also has a master's degree in T.A.S.L Teaching American Sign Language from the University of Northern Colorado. Ms. King is a graduate of the class of 2007's Interpreting on Broadway at the Julliard School in NYC. Most recently, Carrie directed the VM's in February of 2019 with an all-Deaf cast and voice actors/interpreters. Carrie is certified by the National Association of the Deaf NAD IV and by R.I.D. where she holds her CI/CT national certifications for interpreting. Carrie and the V58 Team noticed a need in the community for a creative outlet for local Deaf actors, poets, storytellers, and other performing artists. Theater V58 then joined forces with DDSO and Short Center Repertory Theater to create accessible theater in ASL by Deaf community members and hearing fluent signers. Hence, Theater V58, Inc. was established as the premiere community theater for the Deaf in Northern California's Sacramento Valley.
Justin "Wormy" Callaway, Program Technical Director for V58 is a professional highly skilled and experienced individual whit a strong background in customer service, community outreach, and event planning. Justin has a passion for photography and has been working as a professional photographer for over 25 years. Justin holds a Bachelor
Justin "Wormy" Callaway, Program Technical Director for V58 is a professional highly skilled and experienced individual whit a strong background in customer service, community outreach, and event planning. Justin has a passion for photography and has been working as a professional photographer for over 25 years. Justin holds a Bachelor's degree in Digital Cinematography Photobiology and a certificate of completion of actor training courses. Mr. Callaway is customer service oriented and he has a strong work ethic, which makes him a valuable asset to any team he joins. Some of his work positions have been caregiver, customer service representation, photography, media, and non-profit experience. When he is not busy with his filming and photography, Justin "Wormy" Callaway teachers American Sign Language at a private high school in Sacramento. Justin is pleased to be part of the Theater V58 Inc. Team.
Amy Conner is one of our current cast members and she will be serving as our resident sign master. Amy will also be working with V58 as an assistant director. Amy has always wanted to be on stage. Amy looks forward to bring a part of this years' creative team. Amy is happily married is a Mom to four and Grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren. Amy looks forward to a successful season.

Tracy began her interpreting career in 1980 and has over 40 years of experience in virtually all settings, and is most well known for her theatrical work which began in 1999. Tracy was selected to attend TDF theatrical training at Julliard in NewYork

Tracy began her interpreting career in 1980 and has over 40 years of experience in virtually all settings, and is most well known for her theatrical work which began in 1999. Tracy was selected to attend TDF theatrical training at Julliard in NewYork when the training was first introduced and was invited back 10 years later in 2009
To attend the very last training that was offered. She has interpreted performances at San Francisco Orpheum, The Golden Gate Theater, venues in New York, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. She teaches "Introduction to Performance Interpreting" for the Interpreter Training Program at American River College and administrates their internship program with local theaters. She currently is Artistic Director of Artistic Sign Language Productions. She completed a Theatrical Clown training intensive with SC Rep in summer 2016. Ms. Brennan received an Ellie for lead actress in "Mother Hicks” and was nominated for best supporting actress in “Love on the old Frontier” a melodrama performed in Fairfield, Calif. She has been in several shows with DDSO.

Assistant Artistic Director/ ASL Translation Consultant. Tim Hickerson is a local talent who has been seen in several plays and performances in the Sacramento Valley area. Tim was the executive director and founder of American Sign Language Center Stage which had several successful performances. Tim Hickerson is an actor, director, musician, author and poet. Most recently, Tim was seen in Ultimate Impact as the Young Man, Roger, and portrayed himself performing music and lyrics which he created for the show. Tim has been a wonderful new addition to our V58 Team. Tim attended the California School for the Deaf and has worked in public service and Deaf services for over 30 years. He is happily married and has children and grandchildren to enjoy his most recent retirement.
THEATER V58, INC. proudly presents a new production that tackles the dangers of climate change as seen through the eyes, hearts, and minds of local Deaf and Hard of Hearing actors. Through scenes, ASL poetry, survivor monologues, Deaf music, and video production the cast brings the show to life. Admission is FREE.
